# What you need before you start

Five sections must be complete before your venue goes live: business profile, contact and social, loyalty rules, signup QR, and branding. Everything else, including bank details, is optional at launch. Set aside about half an hour.

Setup is deliberately front-loaded. The five required sections are the ones a
customer sees, so none of them can be skipped and left for later.

## The required five

They are listed in the admin area in the order they are worth doing:

1. **Business profile.** Trading name, legal name, business type, and where you
trade. This is what appears on your venue page.
2. **Contact and social.** The address customers can reach you on, your opening
   hours, and any social links.
3. **Loyalty rules.** Stamps or points, and what a customer has to reach before a
reward unlocks. This is the one that takes real thought.
4. **Signup QR.** The code that turns a walk-in into a member.
5. **Branding.** Your logo and colours, which carry through to the wallet pass
   customers install.

## What is optional at launch

Team access, the approvals queue, analytics and bank details can all wait. Bank
details in particular are worth understanding correctly: connecting a payout
rail is how money reaches your account, not permission to sell. An approved
venue without one can still trade, and Fidella holds the funds in the meantime.

## Budget the time for loyalty rules

Four of the five sections are data entry. The loyalty rules are a pricing
decision, and getting them wrong is expensive in a way that a mistyped phone
number is not. If you have not set a reward threshold before, read the Academy
guide on choosing one before you commit.
