# What is the approval queue?

The approval queue is where redemptions that need a person to say yes wait for a decision. It is optional at launch. Venues use it when a redemption is worth enough that they want a manager, rather than the counter, to release it.

## When it earns its keep

Where a redemption is large enough that a mistake matters, or where staff turnover
is high enough that an extra pair of eyes is worth the friction.

## The cost of using it

Every item in the queue is a customer waiting. Use it where the value justifies
the wait, not everywhere.
