# How do voucher refunds work?

A refund can be requested by the original purchaser only, for a voucher they still hold that has not been redeemed, gifted, transferred or reissued. Approved refunds go back to the original card and are reviewed before payment. A voucher received as a gift is not refundable to the recipient.

Refunds are deliberately narrow, because a voucher that has moved has changed
hands and the original payment no longer describes who holds it.

## The four conditions

The requester bought it. They still hold it. It has not been used. It has not
been gifted, transferred or reissued.

## Gifts are not refundable to the recipient

If you received a voucher as a gift, the money was not yours and the refund path
does not run to you.

## Problems with the goods

If the issue is with what the voucher was for, that is between the customer and
the venue that supplied it. Statutory consumer rights are unaffected by how the
purchase was made.
