# How do I redeem a reward?

Tell staff you would like to redeem, then show your QR code so they can scan it. Your stamps or points are deducted according to the venue's rules. For some redemptions you will be asked to confirm on your own phone before it completes.

## Say so before you pay

Tell staff first. Applying a reward after the transaction has been rung up is
harder for everyone.

## Rewards and vouchers are not the same

A reward is something you earned with stamps or points, and staff redeem it as
soon as they scan you. A voucher is something you bought, were given, or were
issued, so it is treated as spending something you hold.

## The approval prompt

For redemptions that spend value, the confirmation goes to your phone rather
than being decided at the counter. It is a safeguard: the person who earned the
value is the person who releases it. If you do nothing, nothing happens.

## Rewards belong to the venue that issued them

You carry one identity across the network, but your progress and rewards sit
with the venue where you earned them.
