Cookie & Tracking Notice

1. What this notice covers

Fidella uses cookies, local/session storage, and similar technologies ("cookies") in its app and on fidella.app. This notice explains what they do and your choices. Cookies that store or access information on your device are treated as personal information where they can be linked to you, and are handled under the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ) and the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles (Australia).

2. Categories of cookies we use

• Strictly necessary (always on): required to run the app and keep you signed in — for example authentication and session tokens (set by our identity provider), security and fraud-prevention, load balancing, and remembering essential preferences such as dark mode and your consent choices. These do not require consent because the service cannot function without them.
• Analytics and product improvement (consent required): help us understand how Fidella is used so we can improve it, provided by our analytics providers. These run only if you give consent.
• Error and performance monitoring: our error-monitoring provider is used for crash and error diagnostics, with personal data scrubbed from logs. These are used to keep the service secure and stable.

3. Your consent and choices

• We ask for your consent before running non-essential analytics. Your choice is saved to your account and is included in your account export.
• You can change your analytics consent at any time in the app’s settings. Withdrawing consent stops future non-essential analytics; it does not affect strictly necessary cookies.
• You can also control cookies through your browser or device settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of Fidella from working.

4. Third parties

Some cookies are set by service providers acting for us (for example our identity provider for sign-in, our analytics providers, and our error-monitoring provider). These providers process data under our instructions and their own terms. See our Privacy Policy for more.
