What is a scan in Fidella?
A scan is a staff member identifying a customer, by reading their QR code or entering their six-character code. It opens a bounded session in which staff can add stamps, redeem rewards and handle vouchers for that customer, at that venue, for a limited time.
Nearly everything that happens at a counter starts with a scan.
What a scan does
It resolves who the customer is and what they hold at this venue. It does not itself add or spend anything; the staff member then chooses an action.
It is bounded
A scan is not an open licence. It opens a session with a deadline, tied to the staff member who performed it and the venue they are signed in at.
