Stamps and rewards
Can I change my loyalty rules after launching?
Yes, you can change them. Changing how many stamps are needed affects people who are partway through, so tell them rather than changing it quietly. Switching between stamps and points is more like starting again than editing a setting.
Rules are editable. The question is what your existing customers experience.
Lowering a threshold
Straightforward. People are closer than they were. Tell them, or the goodwill is wasted.
Raising a threshold
Someone at eight of nine now needs more. Handle it deliberately: honour existing progress if you can, and say what you are doing.
Switching modes
Stamps and points are mutually exclusive. Customers hold progress in the old mode and will notice, so treat it as a relaunch rather than a setting change.
Common questions
Can I run stamps and points together?
No. They are mutually exclusive modes.
What if I am lowering the threshold?
That is the easy direction. Customers gain, and it is worth telling them so they notice.
How do I know if my threshold is wrong?
Look at your redemption rate. A low one usually means the finish line is out of reach rather than that nobody wanted the reward.
