Loyalty and promotions
Stamps or points, reward thresholds, tiers, and the promotion rules that fire at scan time.
-
Stamps or points
A venue runs on stamps or on points, never both. Stamps count the things people buy: three coffees in one go is three stamps. Points count the money they spend. Choose stamps if most of your sales are about the same size, points if your prices vary a lot.
-
Setting your reward threshold
Work out what the reward costs you to make, not what you sell it for. Then check how long it takes a regular to collect enough. If that is more than about six weeks, most people stop counting.
-
Promotions
A promotion is a rule that fires automatically when a customer is scanned, such as extra stamps on a quiet weekday. Nobody buys a promotion. It can award extra stamps or issue a voucher, and any voucher it issues must come from a published issued offer.
-
Offers and vouchers
An offer is what you publish. A package is one purchasable variant of it with its own price and inventory. A voucher is what the customer ends up holding. Offers are either issued, which are free and price-locked at zero, or purchased, which customers pay for.
